What type of engineer are you? - Find the answer in this KIVI workshop!

More than 30% of newly graduated engineers change jobs within the first year after graduation. To better support young engineers with career choices, KIVI has collaborated with three universities, industry and other stakeholders within the PREFER project.

The role model was developed by asking industry which positions are available for young engineers. From this, three distinctive roles emerged:

  • Product Leadership - a product innovation-focused role.
  • Operational Excellence - a process improvement-focused role.
  • Customer Intimicy - a customer-focused role.

Engineers working in these different roles have a different perspective on technology and develop different non-technical skills to be successful.

This workshop will focus on two tools developed as a compass to guide young engineers in their choices: PREFER EXPLORE and PREFER MATCH. During the workshop, you will work with both to discover which role suits you best, get feedback on where you stand in relation to that role and gain insight into what personal development suits your future career.

The workshop will be given by Dr Gillian Saunders-Smits, Associate Professor TU Delft, who is involved in the PREFER project from TU.
