How does a start-up brings an innovation to the market? Which problems do you encounter before a start-up can enter a market and can industrialize a product? Jan Nesvadba will share his experiences that he gained while starting the young company Cordian and the realization of the product "Zorgmonitor".

With an aging population, challenges in healthcare are growing. Cordian’s innovations, developed in near cooperation with the care sector, are specially designed with the aim to offer sustainable care in the more and more challenging working environments and the improvement of the satisfaction of different users. Next to this, the innovation are efficiently driven and have the aim to bring care to a higher level. The basis of all Cordian products is the Zorgmonitor, a multi-application platform where different applications can be installed. At the moment four applications are available. The number of applications will be expanded in the future.

Jan Nesvadba is technical director of Cordian BV. Previously he was working for Philips as Venture Manager & Business Development Officer for a Philips Healthcare related enterprise. Simultaneously he was consultant for the European Committee (Brussels and Luxemburg), amongst others as EU Coordinated Action CHORUS. Other functions as a managerial position at a Philips Research solid-state lighting research, as well as managing positions at Philips Research, Philips Lighting and Philips Intellectual Properties & Standards. Before that he was involved with several family companies (estate, biotechnology, automobile-parts, health-care).
Jan passed a master degree Finance at the TiasNimbas Business School. Also he studied for a Master of Business Innovation degree. He has a Ph.D. at the University of Bordeaux, France, in Informatics / Computer Science, as well an M.Sc. at the Vienna University of Technology, Austria, in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication & computer science.
