KIVI is the professional association for engineers in the Netherlands
KIVI, the Royal Institute of Engineers, is here for all engineers (ir./ing.) in the Netherlands. We represent the interests of highly skilled technical professionals and provide our members with a place to connect, gain inspiration, exchange knowledge, and develop personally. We are proud to stand for engineers—the driving forces behind technological progress and essential to shaping our future.
Vision and Mission
KIVI provides an inspiring environment for engineers. At the heart of what we share as a diverse profession is our fascination with engineering sciences and our belief that through engineering we make a better world. We stand behind our dynamic mission statement: Engineer your Career - Improve our Society.
Core business
KIVI’s core activities focus on empowering engineers, facilitating knowledge exchange, and supporting professional growth. We organise networking events, provide platforms for knowledge sharing, and foster the development of engineering talent through training and coaching programmes.
History
Founded in 1847 under the patronage of the Prince of Orange, KIVI soon received the “Royal” designation from William II. Over the past 175 years, KIVI has grown into a leading professional association with numerous initiatives, including the launch of the trade journal De Ingenieur. HRH Princess Beatrix is the current patroness.
Hall rental
KIVI’s beautiful historic building features seventeen rooms, each with its own unique atmosphere. The rooms can accommodate groups of 2 to 100 people in various configurations, providing an inspiring setting for training courses, conferences, workshops, lectures, receptions, networking events, or meetings.

KIVI's online community is available to KIVI members. Within the community you will find the member book, your departments, your activities and your settings.
