Additionally there will be sufficient time for networking and meeting each other.
This KIVI activity will take place on Tuesday March 31st 2015 on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, Building HTC31.
Apart from networking possibilities, there will be 2 presentations. The first one by

Patrick Strating, node director Eindhoven of EIT ICT Labs:
VISION, MISSION, GOVERNANCE AND KPI's

EIT ICT Labs is part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT, see http://eit.europa.eu/) a relatively new instrument from the EU to stimulate economic growth and competitiveness by reinforcing innovation. EIT is uses 5 entities called Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC’s) all addressing innovation areas of societal and industrial relevance. 3 KIC’s, including EIT ICT Labs, already started in 2010. Additional 2 new KICs were selected in December 2014 from a competitive call and they are starting now.

EIT ICT Labs, see http://www.eitictlabs.eu/, has partners representing global companies, leading research centres, and top ranked universities in the field of ICT, fulfilling its mission “Driving European leadership in ICT innovation for economic growth and quality of life”.

Patrick will present the EIT ICT Labs, explaining:

• How EIT and EIT ICT labs came into being,
• What drives companies and education institutions to look for new ways of cooperation in innovation and education
• How researchers, academics and business people are brought together to establish new ways of cooperation
• How educational systems are changed to produce top talents ready for future ICT challenges
• How the vision will be realised in Action Lines and concrete activities

Important vehicles to realise the mission as mentioned are projects, defined by a subset of the international partners cooperating in this KIC. One of the biggest projects is mainly executed in Eindhoven. It addresses the question how ICT will contribute to the wellbeing of professional drivers in the EU. The way how this is managed in the context of EIT ICT Labs will be explained in the second presentation by

Robert-Paul Berretty, Senior project manager:
THE HIGH IMPACT PROJECT: PROFESSIONALS FIT TO PERFORM

Robert-Paul will present the above mentioned project, explaining:

• The instrument, high impact initiatives
• How the project is set up on two colocations taking into account EU rules
• How to balance the interests of the partners in the project
• How to achieve project results in this special setting
