About the symposium

Organized by the STUURGROEP WINDTECHNOLOGIE - DUTCH-FLEMISH WIND ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION

The scope of the symposium is to give PhD students and postdocs working in the field of wind engineering the chance to meet and talk about their work with peers. For those interested in state-of- the-art work on wind engineering, this is a symposium not to be missed.

We are happy that the following PhD and postdoc students from Belgium and the Netherlands have committed to sharing their work with you:

· Akshay Patil (postdoc TUDelft): “Understanding the impact of varying geometry level of detail in multi-direction urban RANS simulations tailored for urban air-mobility viability”.

· Ivan Pađen (PhD TUDelft): "Influence of geometry modeling approaches in an urban microscale large eddy simulation with realistic inflow conditions".

· Peng Qin (PhD TU/e): “On the accuracy of idealized sources in CFD simulations of pollutant dispersion in an urban street”.

· Anilcan Ulu (PhD TU/e): “Effect of atmospheric wind conditions on wake flow characteristics of floating wind turbines”.

· Mehtab Khan (PhD TUDelft): “Modelling offshore wind farm induced gravity waves.”

· Alexandros Palatos-Plexidas (PhD VKI & VUB): “Investigating wind farm wakes in the Belgian North Sea using high-resolution mesoscale modeling”.
