Omschrijving

In the Low Countries (Holland and Flanders), dredging has been part of human activity since time immemorial. By creating and maintaining waterways and creating new lands, dredging has changed the way this corner of the earth looks, moving mud and sand by hand, or with animal power. Since then, the power at our disposal has increased dramatically. Basically, we are still moving mud and sand - and some rock - but large, powerful and efficient ships enable us to reshape the world in sometimes spectacular ways.
