Omschrijving

Underwater radiated noise has always been of interest for naval vessels and fishery research ships. Nowadays, there is a growing concern that marine life is affected by the rise in background noise levels in the oceans as well. One of the dominant noise sorces is of course the cavitating propeller. The methods to predict propeller cavitation noise currently in use at MARIN will be presented along with the results for a few cases such as a cruise liner and a research catamaran.

The lecture is preceeded by a brief pitch by Metropolitan Start-up Lab on the promotion of start-ups.
