Mini symposium and company visit to Hosokawa Micron in Doetinchem
NPT and Hosokawa Micron are pleased to announce a joint event on Wed 07 May 2025, pm.
A mini symposium will be held at the Hosokawa Micron premises in Doetinchem, followed by a brief guided tour around Hosokawa Micron's testing facilities.
The exact programme and details are being worked out. The mini symposium will be directed to the following topics:
- Energy recovery for convective drying processes
- Material handling for fine cohesive powders
For instance, concerning the topic of energy recovery for convective drying processes: what are the economic and process potentials of current energy recovery technologies for convective dryers (e.g. heat pumps, absorption wheels, economizers); and what are the pros and cons of these technologies (e.g., for flash dryers operating in open, closed, or semi-closed loop conditions).
Concerning the other topic of the behaviour of certain fine cohesive powders during thermal processing, there are two challenges: a limitation of heat transfer from the hot surface to the bulk powder in batch, indirect-drying processes, and a steady dosing of such fine, aeratable powders.
This mini symposium will be geared towards triggering discussions and highlighting best practices. Attendees are encouraged to share their knowledge and experience.
Please note that a maximum of 50 attendees will be welcomed.
Pre-registration is mandatory. Hosokawa Micron reserves a right to screen the registrants in light of its IP interests. NPT members and delegates with the EFCE on behalf of NPT (KIVI and KNCV) will be given priority when registering. Registration will open soon.
A limited registration fee will be charged for covering (part of) the costs of the event.
