Lecture “Deepwater Construction Vessel ‘Aegir’ shifting the frontiers of reeling”.

In the coming decades a significant rise in ultra-deepwater developments is expected. In 2013, Heerema Marine Contractors will bring its multi-purpose Deepwater Construction Vessel ‘Aegir’ in operation with the aim to maintain and expand its position in this expanding market. The vessel will be equipped with exchangeable reels, a concept enabling to keep the pipelay vessel in the field and expected to induce a step change in the economics of reeling.
The presentation will illustrate how the functional requirements were translated into the specific lay-out of the vessel and how the requirements of the huge reeling system played a dominant role in this.

* If you have, please bring safety helmet and safety glasses with you; only a limited number of helmets and glasses can be provided.
* You are requested to report at the Huisman gate Admiraal Trompstraat 2 - 3115 HH Schiedam, from where instructions will be given with respect to parking and way to the vessel.
* Until 13 May you can indicate with your registration if reserving sandwiches is necessary for you.
* After 13 May there may be a possibility to registrate -if not fully booked- but no sandwiches will be reserved for you. You will expected by 7 P.M. then.
