About ICEC World Congress 2022

ICEC World Congress 2022 is a global conference of the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) to be held in conjunction with and hosted by the Dutch Association of Cost Engineers.

As of F and After Milan (2014), Rio de Janiero (2016), and Sydney (2018) the biannual ICEC World Congress will return to The Netherlands from June 12 – 15, 2022, after 24 years.

ICEC, the International Cost Engineering Council, represents more than 300.000 ICEC Professionals (Cost Engineers; Project Controls Professionals; and Quantity Surveyors), in more than 40 Associations working in more than 120 Countries. The ICEC Professionals work globally in amongst others the building, infra, petrochem, steel, mining, food, manufacturing industries.

The ICEC World Congress brings together Principals, Customers, Engineers, Contractors and ICEC Professionals to share experiences and knowledge around the theme of the ICEC World Congress, which is “Predictable Projects in a Dynamic World”.

A Dynamic World refers to innovation (technical & IT), environmental challenges (sea rise, sustainability) and economic developments (world markets, COVID). Research shows that large numbers of projects are completed with a time and/or a budget overrun, a challenge for the ICEC Professionals to improve Predictability. The combination: “the need to be predictable in a dynamic world” should provide interesting presentations, panel discussions, and discussions amongst attendees of the ICEC World Congress deepening our understanding of this phenomenon.

First hybrid edition of ICEC
Considering the unpredictable consequences of COVID, the ICEC World Congress will be organised in a hybrid format: partially live and partially via online live streams supplemented with an on-demand channel with pre-recorded presentations. Both will ensure you an excellent experience and network opportunity. We aim for a “live program” in 3 parallel rooms in “de Doelen”, a conference Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and “online” virtual live streams supplemented with an on-demand channel, with recorded presentations. The live program will be centered around keynote speakers, presentations (reflecting experience, research, developments), and panel discussions on selected subjects to deepen the subject. Furthermore, there will be selected workshops.

We anticipate approximately 300 participants, with a maximum of 700 participants in “de Doelen” and between 700 to 1500 participants to connect virtually, without a maximum.

What is a hybrid conference?
A hybrid conference is a new innovative way of conferencing to learn, connect, and network. Delegates can attend either in person or online from wherever they are in the world. Delegates will experience all the usual highlights of the ICEC Congress including keynote presentations, sessions, talk shows, and outstanding networking opportunities. Through a powerful virtual platform, delegates will also be able to explore live and on-demand content, interact in live-streamed Q&A discussions, engage virtually with other industry professionals and visit the exhibition floor.

Your safety is our top priority
We would like to stress the fact that health and safety is very important at ICEC 2022 for event host DACE and its congress partners. The well-being of our delegates, exhibitors, and sponsors is our top priority. We’re closely monitoring COVID-19 regulations in line with advice from the Dutch Government and local health authorities to ensure your health is protected. In addition, we are working with our congress venue partners to ensure a safe and secure environment. As of February 25, 2022 all restrictions in The Netherlands have been lifted, except in public transportation, which are anticipated to be lifted in near future.
