Solving the complex energy problem requires a multidisciplinary approach. Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and Energy academy Europe have launched an online multidisciplinary course. The course provides a unique perspective on energy and is meant for students as well as professionals.

Climate change, economic and social development, increasing demand for food and safety demand a radical rethinking of how we approach the future. To face these huge challenges, very drastic measures are needed: the energy transition. But the energy transition is not a package of straightforward solutions. It requires an advanced multidisciplinary approach in which technological, economic, legal, spatial and social aspects are taken into account.

During the course the participant approaches the problems from different perspectives: by videos, articles, discussions and quizzes. In the last week students are asked to apply the obtained knowledge to make an analysis of questions about energy transition in their own country.

The course is free and takes about 6 hours per week during 7 weeks. It starts at October 12th. More information and a trailer can be found at the course page.
