Last Friday, 16 June, the Electrical Engineering Department was therefore a guest at this interesting and exciting company which, with its developments in the field of fibre-optic cabling, is at the centre of current events in the ever-digitising world. We were exceptionally welcomed by Messrs Dion Gigengack, André Steghuis and Henk Woldhuis.
Apart from the interesting tour of the factory, it was a special experience that the physical principles of the behaviour of light signals in glass fibres were once again explained clearly and unambiguously, and that it was also revealed what is involved in designing and manufacturing a top-quality product to meet the high quality requirements of customers.
