Lunch lecture Quantum physics
On Tuesday, 26 February, we organised the lunch lecture Quantum Physics, in collaboration with study associations Arago, Alembic and Abacus. Three researchers from the NanoElectronics department gave the lecture. At 13:45, the first speaker, Floris Zwanenburg, burst in and told us about the technology behind quantum computers. Then his colleague, Michel de Jong, spoke about spintronics. This was further explained by PhD Elmer van Geijn. While enjoying some good Subway sandwiches, the well-filled room listened to the stories about spin-ups and spin-downs, Pauli spin blockers and quantum electronics. All in all, it was an incredibly interesting lunch lecture!
We would like to thank the NanoElectronics department for the delicious lunch, and hope to organise another such fun activity together in the future!
