Royal IHC has been involved with custom built dredging equipment in underwater mining operations for decades. In all well-known mining areas all over the world, IHC equipment is part of heavy mineral sand mining, gold mining, diamond mining and tin mining operations. With an increasing awareness that our seabed is providing lots of opportunities to secure the supply of metals and minerals, the world might consider an offshore mine as the real mine of the future. This potential development provides enormous opportunities for offshore and dredging technology suppliers. Mr. Schouten will explain what has to be done to develop the playing field so that the Dutch cluster can benefit, what the current technology status is and how Royal IHC sees its role in this upcoming industry.
The annual member meeting starting at 6:00 PM will precede the lecture.
