The chemical sector has a turn-over of € 49 billion and is responsible for about 8% of the employment in industry in The Netherlands.

These numbers came from VNCI, the Society of Dutch Chemical Industries, which has just appointed Eric Hogenboom to succeed Werner Fuhrmann as chairman.
