Harry van den Akker has received the BHR Group Life Time Recognition Awardfrom in Mixing from the EFCE.
He became Professor of physical transport phenomina and computational fluid dynamics in Delft in 1988 and after his retirement taught fluid mechanics at the University of Limerick in Ireland. But in NPT circles he is best known as the central person, who single-handedly organised the scientific program of ECCE9, the 9th European Conference of Chemical Engineering in 2013 and made it into a roaring success.
