Today’s life is associated more and more with smartness. From smart cities to smart electricity grids, from smart devices provided enabled by smart technologies. NXP's HPMS strategy contributes to our way of smart living. In the Next Experience Lab, a new set of latest and greatest concepts and products are presented that are essential for Smart Living in the field of Energy Efficiency, Health, Security and Connected Mobile Devices.
A nice example that refers to smartness is revolutionizing the driving experience through connected mobility. NXP’s solutions for automotive security, telematics, car-to-x communication, remote car management, and broadcast reception enable a growing number of new smart mobility applications.
Location based services such as sending out an Emergency Call (eCall) when detecting an accident are growing. But imagine the possibilities when cars are able to communicate with each other or that cars are connected with the road infrastructures. Supporting the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), key information can be exchanged via the IEEE802.11p technology. From relatively simple forward hazard warnings to cooperative intersection safety systems, economically viable options to actively control and manage traffic congestion are now possible.
The Next Experience Lab illustrates a few of these applications in which the car is connected.
