Shipping away from CO2 emissions
As the global economy continues to rely heavily on maritime transport, the shipping industry faces mounting pressure to align with international sustainability goals. This EnergyDays explores the future of shipping through the lens of environmental responsibility, technological innovation, and policy change. With maritime transport accounting for nearly 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions and consuming about 5% of total global oil demand, the sector must undergo a profound shift toward decarbonization.
We will discuss options based on the framework to avoid, shift and improve framework, including the adoption of alternative fuels such as green ammonia and hydrogen, the integration of energy-efficient vessel designs, and the deployment of digital technologies for route optimization and emissions monitoring.
More info on the program will follow soon.
