Autonomous Ships
Low and unmanned shipping is considered a highly promising development in the shipping industry. Technologically it is possible, but there are several challenges and dilemma’s that must be addressed. In her research, Carmen Kooij investigates the requirements for replacing crew tasks with alternative solutions to find technically feasible and economically viable ship and manning concepts for low manned ships.
