Empowering women+ in STEM

NWO Insight Out is a conference dedicated to empowering women+ in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and strengthening their professional networks. The event offers insights, lessons learned and stories from within the field. Participants can take part in workshops designed to build skills they can apply right away. Overall, an approachable, positive and inspiring day.

All sessions are carefully curated for women+ working in fields where they are underrepresented. The programme was developed in collaboration with a sounding board group consisting of professionals from the field, ensuring it reflects real-world needs and experiences. The goal is for participants to leave the conference with a stronger network, a sense of support, and revamped confidence.

Everyone is welcome at NWO Insight Out. There are workshops tailored to early- to mid-career researchers, but senior researchers will also find plenty of value. The programme consists of a variety of plenary presentations, interactive sessions and networking activities.

NWO Insight Out takes place on 12 February 2026 in the Prodentfabriek in Amersfoort.
