Beneath the Surface: The Future of Offshore Site Investigation and KIVI OT Best Graduate Award
Offshore projects are becoming larger, deeper, and more complex. Offshore wind, oil and gas, and marine infrastructure are pushing into deeper waters and more challenging ground conditions. The quality of the geophysical and geotechnical data increasingly determines whether an offshore development delivers on time, on budget, and on performance.
Join KIVI Offshore Technology at Fugro in Nootdorp for an evening exploring how the company's latest technology is turning site investigations into a value driver and how two of its core product families are redefining what is possible offshore.
The evening begins with the presentation of the KIVI Offshore Technology Best Graduate Award, celebrating outstanding graduation work from TU Delft's Offshore Engineering programme.
Fugro will then present the global trends reshaping offshore geophysical and geotechnical site investigation. Two of Fugro’s product families will take centre stage with the innovations driving that change:
- Site Screening (Geophysics): the latest advances in offshore geophysical survey technology, and how faster, more efficient and more accurate subsurface insights are helping to de-risk projects at an earlier stage.
- Site Characterisation Robotics (Geotechnics): Fugro's next-generation geotechnical investigation tools, and how they are improving ground investigations offshore.
The evening concludes with a guided tour of Fugro’s new Head Office, which was completed in October 2025. The design of the new headquarters achieved BREEAM Outstanding certification with an impressive score of 93.44%. The tour includes visits to Fugro's Remote Operations Centre and the geotechnical laboratory.
Presenters
Magdalena Drozdz (Technical Product Manager, Site Screening), Dimitris Kaltsas (Product Manager Subsea Drilling, Site Characterisation Robotics).
