How to start your offshore company
Omschrijving
Lecture “How to start your offshore company”.
Ampelmann is currently a successful offshore company with over 100 employees and 14 systems in operation worldwide. Only 4 years ago, a small team started this company, with a technology developed at TU Delft. The growth of the company and its technology have been stormy and challenging, especially in the offshore industry where introduction of new ways of working typically meets skepticism: "that's not how we do things around here". Slowly but surely, this is changing to Ampelmann becoming part of the furniture: a system on every ship.
Blue Offshore is a small Dutch subsea installation contractor founded early 2010 and focuses on the installation of cables, flexibles and umbilicals. The idea for our company developed during several offshore installation projects. Finally we started with two persons to design and market modular equipment for cable installations for offshore wind farms. In February 2011 we won our first contract. Construction of our first modular Turntable is completed and will operate this fall on an offshore wind farm project. Currently we are installing our first umbilicals offshore Russia. The presentation focuses on typical start-up subjects: developing your business plan, convincing yourself to start, finding an investor and getting the (first) client.
