The Netherlands face a challenge in expanding both the renewable energy as well as the digital domain. Grid congestion, limited spatial availability, long permitting timelines and social resistance to build datacenters on land are undermining the foundation of the Dutch digital economy and as well as the “Digital Gateway to Europe” reputation.
