Strohm Thermoplastic Composite Pipe production plant visit 23 January
What to expect at Strohm?
Strohm is a pioneer in Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) technology, an innovative solution for the (offshore) energymarket.
TCP is lightweight, flexible, non-corrosive and has a low CO2 footprint. It is suitable to transport liquids and gasses under high pressure, including hydrogen and CO2.
These high-grade pipes contribute to the energytransition with a futureproof product.
The pipes are entirely made in Holland at Strohm facilities in IJmuiden.
Following an expansion in 2022, the company’s plant boasts a production environment equipped with a dedicated production line for research and development; extrusion line for liner, coating, and weight coating materials; and two large production lines using state of the art, composite tape winding and proprietary melt fusion technology.
During the visit Strohm will present the path they took from being a disruptor in a conservative market doing small scale qualification testing to setting up and expanding full-scale production facilities. They will also present the latest innovations and products that are being tested and manufactured in IJmuiden. Strohm has started expanding its capacity and keeps developing to meet the growing demand for TCP. Find out more about the production processes, applications and future plans during the presentation and visit.
