Looking for Engineering Talent in Photonics
Are you a young talented (to-be) engineer? Learn about the career possibilities within Twente! On the 2nd of March our first session of the series “Looking for Engineering Talent” will take place. This event is organized in collaboration with KIVI and Saxion studies Applied Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Applied Physics. The event will take place at Saxion University of Applied Science as a hybrid webinar about the photonic engineering industry in Enschede. Only students will be able to attend at the location.
Speakers
Twan Korthorst (Chief Executive Officer, New Origin) studied Electrical Engineering at University Twente. He has been in the field of chip design and fabrication for non-traditional semiconductor micro and nano technologies (MEMS, microfluidics, integrated photonics). Now as CEO at New Origin, his mission is to make it possible for Twente to scale up from photonic chip research to production with the New Origin foundry.
Dimitri Geskus (Chief Technical Officer, Chilas) first studied Applied Physics at Saxion and then University Twente. A passioned engineer in the field of photonics who worked at several research institutes in the world. With his passion for lasers, he is now CTO of Chilas, a laser manufacturer that develops and commercializes widely tunable ultra-narrow linewidth external cavity lasers.
René Heideman (Senior Business Developer, LioniX) studied Applied Physics at the University of Twente and is co-founder of LioniX, a company that specializes in integrated optics, micro-fluidics and opto-fluidics. He also an patented an entirely new way to manipulate light on a small chip, for example, for telephone exchanges. This technology, called triplex technology, is now used worldwide for many different applications.
