Gijs Dubbelman

Gijs Dubbelman is an associate professor at TU Eindhoven and the founder of the Mobile Perception Systems (MPS) lab. He serves as the scientific director of the inter-faculty AI lab for Automated Driving (AUDRI) and as the program leader of the NWO program on AI Foundation models for Industry (FIND). He has broad expertise in AI, spanning classical design-based techniques such as simultaneous localisation and mapping, visual odometry, and bundle adjustment, as well as learning-based techniques including panoptic segmentation, unsupervised domain adaptation, and semi-supervised scene completion. His most recent work focuses on AI foundation models, end-to-end architectures, and self-supervised learning methods for mobile autonomous systems in the open world. With his team, he regularly contributes to leading international AI research venues and, at the same time, puts state-of-the-art technology into practice with industry partners from the Brainport region. He has a strong intrinsic passion for technology and is a strong advocate for open-source AI research.
