After finishing his study Applied Physics (TN ’80) at the University of Twente Martin van den Brink joined ASML from the beginning. Van den Brink played a key role in driving ASML’s technology and innovation success. Among many other achievements Van den Brink invented the Mask-to-Wafer-alignment-method that is still used today. Van den Brink rose through the ranks to become Chief Technology Officer and President, in the process helping to shape the entire semiconductor industry. Van den Brink retired as President and CTO of ASML in April 2024, but remains active as an advisor to the Board.
