Webinar Wind Assisted Ship Propulsion
FOTO
In the “WindLab” project the opportunity was taken to extend conventional “free running” scale model test to aerodynamics: modelling real wind with a simplified wind tunnel in the basin. A unique set-up was tested for its suitability and first data was collected on the performance of wind assisted ships in unsteady scenarios.
Anton Kisjes holds the position of Project Manager at the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands. In 2018 he graduated with his thesis about wind-assistance for merchant vessels. At MARIN his work consist of conducted manoeuvring experiments and simulations to help clients with improving and understand the manoeuvrability of ships.
