More effective drying strategies

The Dutch Working Party on Drying (NWGD) invites you to the yearly symposium about industrial drying. This years’ theme is ‘More effective drying strategies’. It will be organised on Monday 1 December 2014 in Hotel de Nieuwe Wereld in Wageningen
During the NWGD symposium 2014, speakers from companies, knowledge institutes and academia will present latest developments in the area of industrial drying, share challenges encountered in practice and strategies to optimise drying operations. Presenters are selected to represent a variety of industrial drying sectors such as food, pharma, chemicals, plant seeds, and textile industry. The focus of this year will be on effective drying strategies, which encompasses both energy efficient drying and obtaining a high product quality. New drying technologies will be presented, e.g. rotary fluidized bed drying, micro-wave assisted freeze drying and solar drying and other lectures will go into more detail on optimising current drying (and pre-processing) operations. All presentations will be held in English. The symposium is held in collaboration with NPT, the Dutch Association of Process Technologists.

This symposium is the first symposium held since 8 January 2014, when NWGD became an independent society with a new organisation structure. A marked change with previous years is that NWGD organises now more events throughout the year during which drying experts can frequently meet, pick up new ideas and follow the latest developments on drying technology innovation. For example, excursions were held to TNO, FrieslandCampina, Wageningen University and Ten Cate.
About NWGD: The Dutch working party on drying (NWGD) stimulates the development and application of sustainable drying technology in the Netherlands. Since 1974, NWGD connects drying experts in the Netherlands. Since 8 January 2014 NWGD has become an independent society with a new organisation structure and has now 30 company and 30 individual registered members.
