High voltage connections at sea
During this visit to the TenneT visitor center in Wijk aan Zee, Tennet will take you through the connection of the three offshore wind farms off the coast of North Holland and what this entails. From the construction of 3 platforms at sea to the installation of electricity cables and connection to the national electricity grid.
In addition to an explanation by Dick Lagerweij, director of 700 MW offshore projects in the Netherlands, we will visit the largest transformer station in the Netherlands where the power from the 3 wind farms is converted from 220 kV to 380 kV.
In the information centre, TenneT provides information about the new high-voltage connection for the Net op Zee projects Hollandse Kust Noord, West Alpha and West Beta.
Speaker: Dick Lagerweij, head of 700MW AC projects at TenneT
If you are interested in getting a better understanding of TenneT’s role in the energy transition, this will be discussed in more detail in a separate lecture organized by KIVI Hydrocarbon Technologies & Energy Transition on the 25th of October.
