Integrated Pipelay Vessels for Petrobras
Omschrijving
Lecture "Integrated Pipelay Vessels for Petrobras"
For the development of the pre-salt oil and gas fields in the Santos Basin Petrobras signed in 2011 and 2013 contracts for chartering sixteen pipelay vessels in total. The vessels for these contracts will be new built vessels of which ten are ordered at IHC Merwede. Nine vessels, with 550 tonne capacity able to work down to 2500m water depth, are being built at the yards of IHC Merwede in Krimpen aan den Ijssel and Kinderdijk. The tenth, another IHC Merwede design with a capacity of 300 tonne, is built at a Brazilian yard.
Six of the vessels, ordered by Seabras-Sapura, have a integrated IHC design. In the fully integrated vessels the mission equipment, electrical and automation systems and the vessel itself are designed, engineered, built and commissioned by IHC Merwede. This integrated approach allows for an optimized design, and providing the customer a single point of contract for the entire project. Furthermore this one-stop-shop approach makes a short delivery time possible.
In the presentation the design of these vessels will be shown and explained with special attention to the pipelay equipment and the new developed Vessel Management System. Furthermore the challenges of building such advanced vessels on specification, budget and in time will be discussed.
Additionally a tour will be given around the yard, and on board of one of the vessels that are under construction here.
