Diana van den Heuvel is President of the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) and a leading technical-commercial senior leader in the energy transition. With a background in Electrical Engineering (TU Delft) and French Language and Literature (UvA), she combines technical depth with strategic vision and social persuasiveness.
As Corporate Account Director at Siemens Energy, Diana focuses on the strategic renewal of energy infrastructures. She develops forward-looking strategies that address the energy system's biggest challenges, including congestion management, affordability and the increasing need for flexibility. Her work connects digital grid technology, automation and sustainable innovations-such as SF₆-free solutions and circular materials-with policy and market developments that accelerate the energy transition.
Diana strengthens the innovation and entrepreneurship climate within the engineering community through various ecosystem roles. As President of CIGRE Netherlands, she promotes international knowledge exchange and new technical standards. In advisory and governing bodies such as the Netherlands Academy of Engineering, NWO, the Koning Willem I Foundation and the Hidde Nijland Foundation, she contributes to national innovation capacity by strategically connecting science, industry, government and young talent.
