KIVI: The professional association for socially engaged engineers
We are committed to supporting engineers in their professional practice and recognising the value of their work. We help engineers make connections with research, education, society and, of course, each other.
We also help ensure the quality of education and research, deploy engineers' work and knowledge in the service of social issues and make the impact of technology on society visible.
To this end, we work together with the technical business community, knowledge institutions, higher education, the government and foreign partners.
The challenges for engineers
Technological developments are moving extremely fast and now intervene in every aspect of daily life. More than ever, engineers need to remain curious and creative. Intelligent systems and disruptive innovations are expected of them.
There is also a great social responsibility with regard to sustainable design and creation and acting from a strong sense of ethics.
For companies, there are often concrete challenges in how to maintain and increase the technical lead, keep good people interested, continuous professional development of their professionals, getting new technicians up to speed as quickly as possible and bringing in talent. KIVI helps them with this.

KIVI also offers the opportunity to engage as an engineer in other ways. For example, by taking a closer look at concrete social issues and looking for solutions together. Or by supporting higher education as engineers, helping to make educational programmes better and guiding students.
KIVI is a vibrant professional association with over 13,000 members, offering access to offline and online mentoring of engineers, a host of profiling and development opportunities and to a broad industrial and academic network, and deploying its shared knowledge to improve our society.
