Michiel van Leeuwen
Jobtitle: System Engineer (Embedded Engineering)
Michiel van Leeuwen combines an academic foundation in Physics with years of hands-on experience in engineering practice. He started his career in acoustic measurement engineering, where he laid the foundations for his expertise in signal processing and sensor data. At Embedded Engineering (formerly Embedded Acoustics), he further specialised in the integrated product development of high-end systems, ranging from specialised measurement instruments to military communication hardware.
In his current role as System Engineer, Michiel focuses on the complex integration issues surrounding 'soldier systems'. Here, he bridges the gap between innovative hardware components and the robust system requirements of modern defence equipment. Within the EDF project LODESTAR, for instance, he was responsible for integrating the products of five different European companies, proving his ability to unite complex technical interests into a single functional system.
