Olaf Waals

Olaf Waals is a marine engineer with more than 20 years of experience in leading maritime research. He is currently the general director at MARIN and before that he was manager of MARIN's offshore department for almost 15 years. In that role, he was also the organiser of the Floating Energy Research (FER) week. The aim of this international network is to share and develop knowledge and experience for offshore energy developments and operations. His focus is supporting innovation for the maritime sector. Specific to the offshore energy sector, he has worked on projects for the installation of wind turbines, floating wind and solar energy systems, as well as floating infrastructure projects.
