About the organisation

The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) is the professional association of engineers in the Netherlands. We are committed to supporting engineers in their professional practice and recognising the value of their work. We help engineers make connections with research, education, society and, of course, each other.

From the association building, our monumental 18th-century building, in the centre of The Hague, KIVI facilitates a variety of business meetings, including meetings, conferences, training courses and lectures. We do this not only for KIVI members, but also for municipalities, governments and other companies. The location combines a representative historical appearance with modern facilities and professional support.

To strengthen the facilities team, we are looking for a host or hostess.

Job description

As a Host/Hostess, you will ensure that our meetings run smoothly and guests feel welcome.

We are looking for help for end-of-day/evening hours on an on-call basis, approximately 10 hours per week. Flexibility is expected, if help is needed during the day, we hope we can count on you. Of course, we will give you as much notice as possible.

What will you do?

  • Welcoming and accompanying guests;
  • Setting up rooms and cleaning up after them;
  • Providing coffee and tea service and coffee rounds;
  • Preparing and clearing away drinks;
  • Checking facilities such as laptop and beamer;
  • Ensuring the kitchen is clean and the rooms are presentable;
  • Closing the premises at the end of the evening.

What do you bring?

  • Experience in the hospitality, hospitality or facilities industry;
  • Hospitable, representative and service-oriented;
  • Flexible in working hours and available in the evenings;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages;
  • Residing in or around The Hague

Employment type:

  • (minimum) 10-hour fixed-term contract for one year. After the one-year contract, chance of an indefinite contract.
