EngD - Engineering Doctorate

An EngD program is meant for post-master students. The main difference with PhD is the focus: a PhD is aimed to establish you as an independent researcher and an EngD prepares you for a high-level position in industry. a PhD-program takes 4 years, and EngD 2 years.

All EngD programs are part of the joint initiative 4TU.Sai (4TU.School fot Technological Design, Stan Akkermans Institute). The institute is a joint initiative of the 4 universities of technology in The Netherlands. Recently, Wageningen & Groningen University also joined.

We currently have between 4000-5000 Alumni in The Netherlands since the start of the EngD program 40 years ago.

Currently between 500-600 students are in the EngD program.

KIVI - Engineering Society

Society for Engineers of all disciplines, in all stages of their career.

We are committed to supporting engineers in their career and recognizing the value of their work. We help engineers establish connections with research, education, society and each other, the KIVI-community.

Additionally, we contribute to ensuring the quality of education and research, utilizing engineers' work and knowledge to address societal challenges, and making the impact of technology on society visible.

To achieve this goal, we collaborate with the technical industry, knowledge institutions, higher education, government and international partners.
