How small island developing states (sids) can provide insight into some of the solutions of world's most pressing environmental challenges
KIVI KRING CARRIBBEAN – ARUBA invites you to attend its presentation with the following title:
“HOW SMALL ISLAND DEVELOPING STATES (SIDS) CAN PROVIDE INSIGHT INTO SOME OF THE SOLUTIONS OF WORLD’S MOST PRESSING ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES”
by Dr. Diego Acevedo, MSc, BSc
KIVI Kring Caribbean – Aruba invites you to attend an enlightening presentation by Dr. Acevedo on how islands can help magnify our understanding of some of the world's most pressing environmental challenges. They can also provide insight into some of the solutions that can and need to be developed to ensure a sustainable future.
The Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are a grouping of developing countries which are small island countries and small states that tend to share similar sustainable development challenges. These include small but growing populations, limited resources, remoteness, susceptibility to natural disasters, vulnerability to external shocks, excessive dependence on international trade, and fragile environments.
This event provides an opportunity to understand the environmental implications for SIDS in general, and Aruba in particular. It also provides you an opportunity to discuss further sustainable development of our island.
