Bunker Fuels
Omschrijving
Bunker Fuels, latest developments and LNG as a marine fuel.
From 2015 onwards, stringent environmental regulations concerning local emissions such as sulphur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter will apply across the Baltics, English Channel and North Sea. Similar drivers also will apply along marine traffic along the Rhine and inland waters. Mr. Spierings from VNPI will give an overview on the impact of these developments on the bunker fuel market.
Shell is introducing LNG as a new type of bunker fuel, which will comfortably meet the new emission standards. Shell expects European marine LNG to be a key growth sector as customers look for cleaner, cost-competitive fuel alternatives as part of their fuel supply mix. Mr. Gerard van der Laan from Shell and Mr. Sander Rijsdijk or Ms. Ankie Janssen from the Port of Rotterdam will provide more insights in their presentations and show their perspectives and drivers in developing this new marine fuel.
