Ethics of Engineering - Young KIVI Engineers welcomes Maren Behrensen and Bas de Boer

Masterclass information

Ethics of Engineering

The products of engineering inevitably shape the world in which we live, and companies that many engineers end up working for wield significant power. This means that engineers have specific professional responsibilities. The goal of this Masterclass is to foster awareness of those responsibilities from an ethical point of view and to introduce you to action-guiding frameworks helping to navigate ethical dilemmas.

KIVI Code of Conduct

The Masterclass focuses specifically on KIVI’s Code of Conduct (KCC); a set of guidelines outlining one’s professional duties as a responsible engineer. Documents like these are carefully written but often do not reach the professional target group. We outline the relevance of the KCC by discussing its philosophical foundations and applying it to concrete cases.
