Description

As technical project manager for TNO, Diederik Jaspers was responsible for the procurement, modification, preparation of the test programme for the CATO 'Post Combustion Capture' pilot plant and the reporting and conclusions.

Fortunately, the positive results turned out to be entirely as expected and the capture plant operated entirely without defects.
In parallel, a small-scale application was developed for greenhouse horticulture. Here, the 100% CO2 extracted from the flue gas of the CHP is a very valuable product that is used as a growth stimulant in the greenhouse.

Partly on the basis of the tests within CATO 1, E.ON has taken steps towards the realisation of an almost full scale (1/4) for MPP3 on the Maasvlakte (EU ROAD project).
The national follow-up programme CATO II has also been started. At this stage, the speaker has also been hired by E.ON for CATO II and for support regarding the granting of pilot plant experiments.
