In early 2019, Tata Steel IJmuiden was recognised as an 'Advanced 4th Industrial Revolution Lighthouse Company' by the World Economic Forum. This is because of the application of Advanced Analytics at Tata. A few months before, Hessel-Jan Visser had already been interviewed by someone from the WEF and had explained the projects running at the steel plant. However, Hessel-Jan could not have suspected then that he was already running with the better-known tech companies. He will tell how this was achieved in just 2 years by simply starting with a number of projects, training our own people internally, setting up supportive cloud networks and adopting new working methods. He will also give some examples of his own research.
