Description

ECN is working on the development of different types of solar cells.
Some types are still in their infancy while others are already in full production. Besides an overview of the principles of converting light into electricity, yields and trends, the PUM concept developed at ECN will of course be discussed.

Recently, a solar panel according to this concept was made on the ECN pilot line with an efficiency of 16.4%; with this, ECN held a world record.
Despite the fact that the record efficiency turned out to be short-lived, ECN managed to develop a solar cell with an even higher efficiency.

How was this realised?
What does this mean for the future?
What else can be expected?
