Engineering industry trends and needs
Mr Paul Oortwijn, director of NLingenieurs, spoke to a packed audience about trends and needs in the engineering industry. The engineering industry is a very dynamic sector. A sector that is also increasingly internationally oriented.
During the lecture, it became clear that despite the economic crisis and changing outlook, there is cautious optimism, but the challenges for engineering firms are clear. Customer satisfaction emerged as the most important business issue. Some ways to boost customer satisfaction were discussed, but there seems to be a discrepancy between the perception of the firm and the perception of the customer. Partly by purchasing systems, engineering firms expect to boost the quality of their services, the most important aspect in which they want to differentiate themselves from the competition.
