Value creation in castings.
Description
EDS-Casting develops metal casting solutions using material only where necessary resulting in weight and cost reduction. EDS stands for Engineering, Design and Supply and all activities have to do with actually delivering a product with maximum customer value and minimum cost.
Unlike traders, EDS-Casting starts with load specifications, requirements, wishes and possibly existing problems. Based on this information, FEM calculations are made that provide insight into the forces play resulting in a volume prediction/optistruct analysis.
EDS wants to understand what the customer needs and why and specialises in product optimisation with respect to weight and cost and can help you with existing products and or assemblies. This also results in lower machining costs.
In the design phase, the most favourable production technique (lost xax, low pressure sand, etc) and operations are taken into account. This is all about value creation and changing the world's philosophy when it comes to material use.
During the presentation, Mark Rahusen will use practical examples to show what results have been achieved and how they were arrived at.
