From useless to sensible energy policy!
Description
This autumn, a report by two engineering firms specialising in energy will hit the headlines, showing that the energy agreement will cost the Netherlands €100 billion. The policies now planned until 2030 will cost another €100 billion or so. Together, this is about €45,000 per four-person family. From about 2030, most families will spend more money on these extra energy costs than they receive in holiday pay. The disposable income of a large part of the population will thus fall drastically and the economy will plunge into a serious crisis as a result.
And this while the benefits in the form of CO2 reduction are very limited, and at best, if the most alarming predictions are believed, this reduction will postpone global warming at the end of the century by only about 1 day.
So the current energy policy is unaffordable and virtually useless, but fortunately there are alternatives!
Theo Wolters explains what is wrong with the current policy and comes up with a sensible alternative.
