Rijkswaterstaat faces a major, important task to keep the Netherlands safe, liveable and accessible in the coming decades. In particular, maintaining the rapidly ageing main infrastructure and making the Netherlands climate-proof deserve special attention at this time. In her presentation, Patricia Zorko will discuss these challenges, and the work and tasks of the now 225-year-old Rijkswaterstaat organisation. She will also cover the main other social developments that affect the work and tasks of Rijkswaterstaat. Finally, she will talk to the KIVI Rotterdam Circle about her experiences in managing the Rijkswaterstaat organisation in her role as deputy director-general.
