Description

Introduction of national switching point in healthcare.

The national switching point (LSP) forms the heart of the basic ICT infrastructure for healthcare. It is the 'control tower' that enables secure, nationwide electronic exchange of patient information. The LSP allows healthcare providers to retrieve up-to-date patient information from the systems of fellow hospitals, pharmacies and GPs nationwide. A properly functioning National Switch Point is a prerequisite for the national introduction of the Electronic Medication Dossier (EMD) and the electronic GP Observation Dossier (WDH), the first chapters of a national Electronic Patient Dossier.

The introduction of the LSP involves quite a lot. In this presentation, Gerard Persoon will talk about what the LSP entails and what it takes to connect to it
