The travelling party (Bremen, 20 October 2016)

Description

Thursday morning 20 October, approximately 7:30 am, departure for Bremen from a location to be determined in the western Netherlands. Route probably via Amersfoort, Apeldoorn and Hengelo.

Back in the Netherlands late Sunday evening, the 23rd of October.

Programme to be expected:

Thursday afternoon Airbus Defence & Space Bremen (final 15:00 - 17:00. Mr Bart Reijnen there Airbus Site Director and Head of Orbital Systems and Space Exploration). Late afternoon to Hamburg: Bundt's Garten Restaurant & Hotel and dinner. Hotel only 2.4 km from Airbus Headquarters in Hamburg.

Friday morning Airbus Aircraft Hamburg (final 9:30 - 12:00, final assembly A 320 and A 380).

After lunch towards Schwerin: Fokker historical period 1913-1921. Afternoon: visit to the two old Fokker Halls from 1913 (recent information from the city of Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: the Fokker Hall at Bornhövedstrasse 95 will be renovated in the coming months and will be in order by October).

Short stop at the two old residential addresses of Anthony Fokker and tour former Perzina piano factory (current owner of the Perzina name is Ron Bol, Bol pianos Veenendaal), at the time used for the production of aircraft wings. Organisation City of Schwerin. Possible short visit to Görries airport.

End of day to Inter City Hotel Schwerin and evening dinner ( Architect Caro Baumann and representatives City of Schwerin ) Hotel Niederländischer Hof (predicate Court supplier since 1922 and at the time regularly visited by Queen Wilhelmina's consort, Prince Hendrik - Herzog Heinrich zu Mecklenburg).

Saturday morning, trip to Peenemünde (V2 development etc. WW2). Lunch and visit Historisch-Technisches Museum Peenemünde GmbH im Kraftwerk. Museum visit about two hours.

Then separate guided tours (vans Mr Saathoff, suggestion Robert Hamann) around the Peenemünde complex.

In the evening to Rostock (invited there Kathrin Möller, former Technik Museum Wismar & Volker Koos, Fokker historian, writer). Hotel Ibis Rostock am Stadthafen, dinner in Zum Alten Fritz, right next door.

Return to NL Sunday morning after breakfast.

Included in the trip/costs: 3x hotel (single rooms) + breakfast, 3x dinner, entrance AIRBUS Bremen, entrance AIRBUS Hamburg, entrance Peenemünde Museum & bus trip.

While travelling, stops will be made for coffee, lunch, etc. and a hot meal on the return journey. These refreshments are at your own expense.
