This activity is postponed until after the summer holidays due to coronavirus developments

With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution "industry 4.0.", more and more devices are being connected to the Internet. These devices are, for example, HMIs, PLCs or complete Scada systems. The advantages are numerous:

  • Remote control of bridges and locks
  • Remote reading of process data for predictive maintenance
  • Remedying faults from anywhere in the world
  • .....

Process automation allows us to increase the efficiency of our processes. But what about maintenance of those systems? Maintenance takes on a discipline: "Operational Technology". Or in Dutch: "industrial automation". That responsibility often lies with the OT manager or Process Automation manager. But because of the interconnectedness of devices, there is no longer a clear separation and there is a chance of blind spots in the system that pose risks.

There are irrevocably a number of drawbacks to connectedness between different networks and the emergence of blind spots. There is always a gateway to the outside. Insufficient security or its absence can lead to hackers gaining access to the network. And that happens:

With this event, KIVI Maintenance aims to provide insight into information security risks and best practices. With experts from VEST Information Security and Rijkswaterstaat, we will go into the depths of cybersecurity. After the event, we will be aware of the risks but also have tools to start taking measures, both in system design and for the current operational situation.

Programme:

  • 16:00 Reception
  • 16:30 Speaker Rijkswaterstaat Turabi Yildirim
  • 17:30 Break with light meal
  • 18:15 PM Speaker VEST Alex van Ee
  • 19:15 Discussion and networking
  • 20:00 hrs End

About the speakers

VEST has been a pioneer in information security since 2002. VEST was founded in 2002 to focus entirely on information security which at the time was still in its infancy. Today, it is an integral part of entrepreneurship. VEST helps multinationals in industry, food and government to better protect themselves against external risks. They do this through: security management, security awareness, security testing and security design. On behalf of VEST, Alex van Ee will make participants aware of the risks and take them through security testing and what is possible.

Rijkswaterstaat works on a safe, liveable and accessible Netherlands. Speaker Turabi Yildirim is responsible at RWS for the approach and framework. He takes us through RWS's policy measures to ensure the security of process automation in advance.

As you have come to expect from us, this will be a substantive and instructive afternoon.

Note: Because VEST specialists share their expertise on sensitive information, it is important that the information is not shared or deployed. To formalise this, we use an NDA that you can sign at the event

Note: due to corona measures, the date may be rescheduled. When you register, you will receive a timely update on the status of the event.
